TOBG is a community-sharing app for outdoor bouldering. You create an account to contribute content; crag data you upload is reviewed by us and, once approved, is made publicly visible to all users. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can delete it.
1. Accounts & Sign-in
You can register and sign in with any of: email + password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-in.
- We collect your email address to create your account, verify sign-in, and send necessary notifications.
- With Sign in with Apple you may use Apple's private relay email to hide your real address; we only receive that relay address.
- With Google Sign-in we receive only the basic identifiers needed for authentication (such as email and an account ID).
- Your nickname and avatar are set by you in the app as part of your profile.
2. Content You Upload & Create
When you contribute, the following is uploaded to our servers: crag and area names, approach-point GPS coordinates, boulder photos, route topos and grades, and text notes.
Please note: once approved by us, this content is publicly visible to all users. Do not include personal or sensitive information you don't want made public (e.g. others' privacy, private locations).
Before approval, your submission is visible only to you and the administrator.
3. Permissions & How They Are Used
📷 Camera / Photos
Used to take or pick boulder and crag photos. Photos you choose to submit are uploaded to our cloud storage and shown publicly once approved.
📍 Location
Used to manually drop an approach-point pin on the map and to check for nearby existing crags to avoid duplicates. We do not track your location in the background; coordinates you pin and submit are uploaded and published as part of the crag content.
4. Data Storage & Processors
- We use Supabase as our backend for authentication, database, and file storage (Supabase Storage). Your account data and uploaded content are stored on Supabase-managed cloud infrastructure.
- Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS.
- Apple and Google act as sign-in identity providers only when you choose to sign in with them.
5. Third-Party Analytics & Tracking
TOBG currently integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across apps for advertising (no "tracking" as defined by Apple's ATT). Reserved clause: if we later add analytics or crash-reporting tools (e.g. to improve stability), we will update this policy and obtain your consent where legally required.
